Marketplace Product Owner
We need a person with a large outlook of what happens among operators of marketplace platforms and their clients/participants.
He/she should be an expert in this business area, should have a commercial marketplace operating experience – how/what to sell, what additional services to integrate, how to promote.
Ideal candidate should have both excellent analytical skills, commercial skills and creative orientation (that could come up with something new in this field, inventions, ideas, brain storms).
The essence and main responsibilities of this specialist are:
a) to know and understand the current trends in the market and industry to see what will be these trends in the nearest future;
b) to know and understand what are Marketplace strengths and weaknesses;
c) to know marketplace operating and processing, know the needs of marketplace clients/participants;
d) considering all this knowledge and forecasting to be able to present and defend the projects in front of the top-management (excellent presentation skills);
e) to enter the new countries and to participate in sales and promotions, to develop the business attracting new clients;
f) to be able to go through the budgeting procedures and perform very basic Project Management for the approved project;
g) to be able to communicate with developers, to be part of their team, to set up the tasks;
h) after the development be able to check the work done and accept the result; candidate should have the desire to “get hands dirty” into testing;
i) after the result is accepted, to be able to "sell" this improvement to sales/presales teams, to help them in their work with real customers, as well as show the cool functionality that was invented (ie back to presentation skills level).
